Examination & Promotion

Examination Policy

• Students absent from an examination will not be given a re-examination, under any circumstances.
• Absence from an examination without a valid and serious reason will be treated as failure.
• No student will be allowed to appear for any examination unless all school dues are cleared.
• Absence from one or more subjects will result in loss of marks/grades for those subjects.
A student may be debarred from an examination due to:
• Unsatisfactory academic progress
• Insufficient attendance
• Serious misconduct
• A minimum of 80% attendance is mandatory to be eligible to appear for examinations.
• Use of unfair means (cheating, giving/receiving assistance, tampering with answer sheets or report cards) will result in:
• Zero marks in the concerned subject
• Issue of a Red Card
• Repetition of such misconduct will lead to dismissal from the school.

Promotion Policy

Promotion is based on:
• Continuous assessment throughout the year, and
• Marks obtained in the Final Examination
• Students who fail in Class IX or XI, or are placed in supplementary, will not be given another chance.
• Examination results are final and not subject to reconsideration.
• Only students who score a minimum of 40% marks in all subjects are eligible for promotion to the next class.
• Promotion decisions are made by the concerned teachers after careful evaluation of each student’s performance.
• The final decision on promotion is binding and cannot be reviewed.
